Richard Hindle, an economist and regional analyst, is a long-standing director of SQW. His expertise in economic development, as a designer, appraiser, evaluator and practitioner, includes feasibility studies, project planning and testing, programme evaluations and organisation reviews, with the focus on business development/ innovation, and area positioning, performance and competitiveness. Clients include local authorities and partnerships, government and non-governmental organisations, in the UK and internationally.

Recent projects led by Richard Hindle include: the multi-year evaluation of process, projects and overall impact generated by VisitEngland/VisitBritain's 'Discover England Fund'; economic and business case development for the Natural History Museum and Historic England; evaluation and appraisal of Proof of Concept funding in Northern Ireland, also Invest NI’s business property initiatives and 'fund of funds'; evaluations of Arts Council-led programmes for internationalisation and to support local initiatives; evaluation of Knowledge Transfer, Innovation and Advisory Services under the Welsh Government's Farming Connect programme;. He was the city region lead for our Gateway Review evaluations of Local Growth Interventions (devolved funding) in the Leeds and Liverpool city regions.
