Developing Advanced Teacher Status for experienced FE practitioners
Advanced Teacher Status (ATS) is the badge of advanced professional practice and mastery in further education and training. SQW is working with the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) and the Society for Education and Training (SET) to ensure that ATS is positioned as the gold standard in teaching in the FE and training sector. This standard will contribute to the ETF’s and SET’s goals to strive for excellence within the sector workforce.
SQW is supporting the development of ATS through a number of research activities including an online survey of experienced practitioners to find out more about their professional development plans and activities, and a series of individual consultations with a wide range of individuals. Our work with ETF will help guide new developments to offer practitioners realisable progression activities and recognition of their vital role in the sector workforce.
