Learning from the Macmillan Local Authority Partnership Programme
SQW and the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) were commissioned by Macmillan Cancer Support in 2016 to conduct a three-year evaluation of the Macmillan Local Authority Partnership Programme. The programme involved partnerships between Macmillan and localities in four areas (Dundee, Fife, Durham and Tower Hamlets), with the evaluation running to spring 2020.
Each locality adopted a slightly different approach to their local partnership, but all undertook thorough scoping, asset mapping and co-production with people affected by cancer.
The evaluation explored formative learning, economic implications and outcomes emerging for people affected by cancer, as well as outcomes for local service providers and commissioners. The final report can be downloaded here.
SCIE and SQW have developed a toolkit to share the learning emerging from the evaluation, including top tips and video content. The toolkit has been published on SCIE’s website, and can be accessed here.
