Toton HS2 Visioning Study

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is one of the UK's largest Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and has set itself ambitious challenges to grow and develop further. The arrival of HS2 and the potential to develop the land adjacent to the planned HS2 East Midlands Hub at Toton presents a range of exciting growth opportunities for NTU.
SQW was commissioned by NTU to undertake a small and rapid piece of pre-feasibility work to support the development of an outline long-term vision for NTU's involvement at Toton. The work was informed by the evolving UK policy landscape and learning from elsewhere in relation to out of town University-led schemes.
Our work included NTU and wider stakeholder consultations, a high-level desk-based review of data and documents, development and analysis of relevant comparator materials and an internal team workshop.
